There are moments in life that can never be recreated. A final embrace. A shared laugh through tears. The comforting hand of a lifelong friend. The stories, the hugs, the quiet moments that become part of a family's history. Those are the moments I am entrusted to preserve.

For more than 36 years, I've dedicated my life to photography, learning that the most meaningful images are rarely posed—they're genuine. My role at Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home is not to direct the moment, but to quietly witness it, documenting the love, remembrance, and connections that naturally unfold during a Celebration of Life or memorial gathering. I believe the most powerful photographs are the ones people never realize are being taken. When families gather to honor someone they love, emotions are real and unfiltered. There is grief, but there is also gratitude, laughter, storytelling, and healing. My responsibility is to blend into the background with respect and sensitivity, allowing every image to reflect the authenticity of the day.

Every photograph becomes part of a family's legacy. Years from now, these images will remind children of the people who surrounded them, grandchildren of stories they may not remember hearing, and families of the overwhelming love that filled the room on a difficult day.

Photography during a time of loss is unlike any other kind of photography. It isn't about perfection. It's about presence.

It is an incredible privilege to be invited into these deeply personal moments, and I never take that trust for granted. My hope is simple—to create photographs that bring comfort today and become treasured family memories for generations to come. Because when the service has ended, the flowers have faded, and time has moved forward, these photographs remain.
