In Loving Memory of Alicia Rivera
January 19, 1950 – May 24, 2026

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Alicia Rivera, who departed this life peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on January 19, 1950, Alicia lived a life filled with love, laughter, resilience, and unforgettable memories. She was a woman whose heart knew no limits—a compassionate soul who welcomed everyone with kindness, a witty storyteller who could make a room burst into laughter, and a humble, caring presence who always put the needs of others before her own. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched countless lives and will continue to be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Alicia was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her cherished daughter, Tanya Marie; her brother, Angel; her sisters, Estella, Consuelo, and Paulie; and her treasured granddaughters, Kayla and Tanya Marie. Though their loss weighed heavily on her heart, she carried their memories with her every day and looked forward to the day she would be reunited with them.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children, Trina, Markie, Georgie, and Sonya (Teresa); her beloved sister, Ernestine; and her grandchildren, Savannah, Tanya, Donald Jr., Donovan, Dominic, Julie, Breanna, Adriana, Crystal, Jessica, Lilyanna (Brant), Nicholas, Nathan, Lilly, Adrianna, and Arabella, along with many adored great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Family was Alicia’s greatest treasure. Nothing made her happier than gathering with those she loved, sharing stories, offering advice, or finding another reason to spoil her grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she took immense pride in every one of them. To them, she was more than a grandmother—she was a safe place, a source of unconditional love, and the keeper of countless cherished memories.

Throughout her life, Alicia wore many hats and worked hard to provide for her family. She spent time as a bartender, where her vibrant personality and quick wit made her unforgettable. In her younger years, she was also a cage dancer, embracing life with confidence, energy, and a free spirit that remained with her throughout her life. She also worked at an egg factory and at the A&W Root Beer stand, always bringing dedication and determination to every job she held.

Alicia often spoke proudly of her roots and her upbringing in a hardworking watermelon-growing family. Those early years helped shape the strong, resilient woman she became. She carried with her the values of hard work, loyalty, and family, passing those lessons on to future generations.

Those who knew Alicia knew she could always make them laugh. She had a remarkable sense of humor, a sharp wit, and a way of finding joy even during difficult times. Whether she was teasing someone she loved, sharing a funny story, or offering a perfectly timed one-liner, she had a gift for brightening people’s days.

One of Alicia’s favorite movies was Dirty Dancing, a film she watched countless times and loved dearly. Fittingly, one of her favorite sayings was that she had “the time of her life.” Those words perfectly reflect the way she lived—with passion, laughter, love, and gratitude for the moments she shared with family and friends.

Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Alicia’s love lives on in the family she built, the memories she created, and the lives she touched. Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, humor, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

“Now I’ve had the time of my life, and I owe it all to you.”
