Betty Jo Cowling (née Jeffery, formerly Murphy), age 90, passed away peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald, as well as a stepson, Donald, Jr.
Betty leaves behind a family who will continue to cherish her memory. She is survived by her four children, Judi, John, Kathleen, and Mary, and her four stepchildren, Richard, David, Daniel, and Ruby. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory and the faith she shared into generations to come.
Betty loved Jesus. She wanted everyone who met her to know Jesus’ love and wanted them to know Him personally too. Betty also loved blessing her family and her church family with her cooking and baking. Her famous Christmas cookies will continue to be made by her children and grandchildren. Her renowned coffee cake will be remembered by her entire church congregation.
Betty was a woman of strong faith and deeply held convictions. She was a devoted advocate for the sanctity of human life. Those who loved her will remember not only what she believed, but the strength with which she lived those beliefs. Betty proudly served her country in the United States military and continued to be a strong patriot throughout her life.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She finished strong in her faith, surrounded by love, and is now with the Lord.
