Margaret Burns

Dolores “Margaret’ Burns entered Heaven's Gates on June 28,2023.

She was born in Clendenin, West Virginia on August 30, 1927. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Orvill Burns to whom she was married 69 years; sons John E. And Lon C. Burns; brother Stephen Casey.

She is survived by her daughter, M. Lynn Zimmer Smith; seven grandchildren Jim (Kathy), Mike, Brian (Jackie) Zimmer, Dyanna L. Smith, Jason (Kathy), Stephen (Courtney), and Jennifer Burns; eight great grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Matthew, and Makayla Zimmer. Bryan, Sara, Sydney, and Riley Burns.

Margaret earned her Business Degree from Kent State University and worked for pioneer foods for 10 years. She then furthered her career as the Business Office Manager for Brookside Country Club. She retired from that position after 22 years of dedicated service.

She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and oil painting. As a woman of great faith she dedicated her time and talents to the Canton Baptist Temple for the last 68 years.

Friends may call on the family at the Funeral Home on Thursday July 6, 2023 from 10am to 11am. Funeral services will begin on the 11 o'clock hour with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
