Derle R. Flinner Sr. Obituary (1923 - 2015)

Derle R. Flinner Sr. 1923- 2015 age 92, of Canton. Born in Brewster, Ohio to the late Sam and Mary (Karrer) Flinner. Also preceded in death by his wife, Sara (Vierheller) Flinner; sons, Ricki and Derle Jr.; two brothers and five sisters. Derle retired from LTV in Massillon and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II in the South Pacific. Memberships include Dueber Church and Massillon Eagle’s Aerie # 190. Survived by five children, George (Frances) Flinner Sr., Joseph (Carla) Flinner, William (Jo Ann) Flinner, Marlene DeLong, Debra Flinner; nine grandchildren including George (Cindy) Flinner Jr., Drayven (Christal) DeLong, Sarah (Stacy) DeLong; many great grandchildren including Kristen, Gina, and Samuel Flinner. Services will be Monday at 11 am in the funeral home where friends may call Sunday from 2-4 pm and one hour before Monday services. The family suggests memorials be made to Dueber United Methodist Church.
