Eddie Warner Jr

–

Canton, Ohio

Eddie Warner Jr, 89 of Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully from this earthly realm late Tuesday, June 17,2025 just a few days short of his 90th birthday. We are comforted in knowing that Eddie Warner Jr now sings with the choir of angels.

Born in Birmingham, Al on July 28, 1935, and his life has been nothing short of miraculous. An elementary school student when his family moved from Birmingham to Cleveland. A scholar and an athlete – he played varsity football and varsity baseball at East Tech High School. The very first the generation of family before him to go to college he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi (Phi Nu Pi) as an undergraduate at Kent state University and had a successful career as an engineer/computer scientist. His athleticism was something to marvel: Minor League Baseball Player (almost made it to the Majors), avid tennis player, elite runner, and fitness enthusiast An Army veteran who served an extended tour of duty in Germany, where he learned to love “real” German Beer and pretzels! He worked for IBM in New York City and San Francisco for many years. He was a magnificent and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and human being. If you were lucky enough to know Eddie, you already know he did not want a “funeral.”

Eddie is survived by his wife Lillian Warner, daughters Stacey (Trevon Chesney) Warner; Michelle (Illya Davis) Warner, and son Marques (Sonya) Warner. Grandchildren JeVon Chesney; Jalen Dash Chesney; Lauren Waller; Charles Waller III; Jordan Warner; and Marques Warner Jr. Great grandchildren Lynnae Craig and Shiloh Chesney. Step children William Peak and Erica (Shawn) Lemon. Step grandchildren – Tiarra Gallentine Peak; Jarren Peak; Jamie Norris; Joshua Lemon and Jonathon Lemon. Mother of Stacey and Michelle, Maurcita (Marcy) Warner.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rosa and father Eddie, brother James Warner and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to everyone for all love and concern during our time of sorrow.

The family also wants to say a “special” thank you to Heartland Hospice, especially to Jodie and Rebecca Cmar. Your support was appreciated in our time of need. Thank you sincerely.
