Emery Riggs Obituary (1965 - 2024)

In loving memory of my Uncle Alan, a man whose presence was a blessing to all who knew him. Known fondly by his middle name, Alan, his given name Emory was an equally fitting tribute to his warm and generous spirit— a testament to his mother’s excellent choice. Alan lived his life immersed in the serene beauty of the countryside, surrounded by nature in Burgholz, Ohio—a small, uniquely named town that was a perfect home for such a peaceful soul. His love for nature was a part of his everyday existence, reflecting his calm demeanor and deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Known for his incredible kindness and generosity, Alan had a heart so large that he would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. His sweet and loving nature shone brightly when he was around children. He delighted in their happiness, always saving little treasures for them to enjoy. Our memories of Uncle Alan are filled with his nurturing spirit and loving presence. Though he has left us, his memory is very much alive, and we continue to feel his love and wisdom in our hearts. The family he leaves behind includes his two sisters, Alice and Tina, and their children—Dustin, David, Carl, Julie, Jessica, and Melissa—along with a host of other family members who cherished him dearly. Uncle Alan has embarked on a journey to join his parents, brother, and the many beloved family members who have gone before him, where a joyous reunion in heaven surely awaits. Yet, here on earth, his legacy lives on in our hearts as we continue to celebrate the gentle, loving spirit of a truly wonderful man.
