# Henry A. “Butch” DiMickele
**December 19, 1950 – October 27, 2026**
Henry A. “Butch” DiMickele, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, a family who adored him, and a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those fortunate enough to have known him.
Some people have a way of making the world feel a little more secure simply by being in it. For his family, Butch was one of those people. He was their rock, their steady presence, and the person they knew they could always count on. Whether someone needed a helping hand, a few words of encouragement, or simply a hug, Butch was there. He never needed a special occasion or a reason to show someone he cared. Helping others was simply part of who he was.
Butch had an enormous heart, and he shared it freely. He believed in being there for the people he loved, but his generosity and compassion extended far beyond his immediate family. If someone reached out to him for help, he did whatever he could to make a difference. He was the kind of man whose love was demonstrated not merely through words, but through the countless little things he did for others throughout his life.
Of all the things Butch treasured, nothing meant more to him than his family. For 55 wonderful years, he shared his life with his loving wife, Debbie. Together, they built a life filled with love, commitment, family, and the countless memories that come from spending more than five decades side by side. Their marriage was a testament to the enduring strength of love and the beauty of sharing life's journey with someone who means the world to you.
Butch was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren, in particular, held an extraordinary place in his heart. They were his pride, his joy, and, in so many ways, his entire world. He delighted in every opportunity to spend time with them, taking genuine interest in their lives and celebrating the moments, both big and small, that mattered to them. Whether it was a family gathering, an ordinary afternoon together, or one of those hugs that seemed to make everything better, Butch treasured every minute. To his grandchildren, he was so much more than a grandfather. He was a source of unconditional love, encouragement, comfort, and countless happy memories.
And while Butch certainly loved his family, there was another special place in his heart reserved for his four-legged companions. Known affectionately as something of a “dog whisperer,” he possessed a remarkable connection with dogs. He understood them, loved them, and seemed to have a special way of earning their trust and affection. Among them, his beloved Daisy held the distinguished title of his best friend. Their bond was a beautiful reflection of Butch's gentle nature and his capacity to love without reservation.
Butch also believed in the value of hard work and in making a meaningful contribution to his community. Following a dedicated career with the Timken Company, he retired and he continued to work for ServPro of Canton at the SCCAA Head Start School. His willingness to continue serving others after retirement spoke volumes about his character. For Butch, making a difference in someone's life was never simply a job. It was something he genuinely cared about.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 55 years, Debbie DiMickele; his loving daughters, Kimberly (DiMickele) Coe, Kristy DiMickele, and Kelly (Stephen) Petry; and his son, Chad M. Kintz of Arizona.
He will also be deeply missed by his treasured grandchildren, Kylie Menilis, Colton and Carlie Petry, Zander Hewitt, and Brynleigh and DiMarah Kintz, all of whom brought immeasurable happiness and purpose to his life.
Butch is additionally survived by his mother, Helen DiMickele, who has reached the remarkable age of 100; his siblings, Richard DiMickele, Susan (Fred) Dimmerling, Lorraine (Bill) Goulder, Gary DiMickele, and Dean (KC) DiMickele; and his sister-in-law, Michele (Rick) Hupp. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed by his friendship, kindness, and generous spirit.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry A. DiMickele; his brothers, Sam and Dan DiMickele; and his sister, Mary Alexander.
Although his passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot adequately describe, Butch's family takes comfort in knowing that the love he gave so freely will continue to live on through each of them. It will be found in the lessons he taught, the memories they share, the kindness they extend to others, and the countless moments when they find themselves wishing they could have just one more conversation, one more laugh, or one more of his wonderful hugs.
A man does not have to accomplish extraordinary things in the eyes of the world to live an extraordinary life. Sometimes, the greatest measure of a person's life is found in the people who loved him, the family who depended on him, and the lives made better simply because he was there.
By that measure, Butch lived a truly remarkable life.
And while his family must now learn to navigate a world without his physical presence, they will never have to live without his love. That is something he leaves with them forever.
In accordance with Butch's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. Instead, family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., at VFW Post 3747, 1935 Avalon Avenue NE, Canton, Ohio 44705.
Those who knew and loved Butch are warmly invited to come together, share their favorite memories, celebrate the wonderful man he was, and remember a life that meant so very much to so many.
Butch was the rock of his family, a friend to anyone in need, and a man whose heart always had room for one more. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
