James Frank Derheimer

James “Jim” Derheimer, 64, of Canton, passed away on July 8 at his family home.

Jim was born on October 26, 1961, to Frank and Barb Derheimer. Throughout his life, he was known for his strength, loyalty, and unwavering love for those closest to him. He lived a life filled with resilience, laughter, and a deep appreciation for family, friends, and faith.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States military, a chapter of his life that remained a source of great pride. His service reflected the values he carried throughout his life—honor, dedication, and selflessness.

Above all else, Jim cherished the people he loved. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing stories, or simply spending time with family and friends, he had a way of making others feel valued. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generous heart, his love of building and fixing things, working on cars, and enjoying a meal with friends and loved ones. He made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jim is survived by his son, Christian (Brittany) Derheimer; stepson, Jared Tingler (Melissa); daughter, Jamie Derheimer; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Cory) Huntsberger; and several grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Barb; his brother, Mikey; and a twin lost at birth.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim’s life during calling hours on July 23, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Jacob’s Cemetery Association, where military honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to our country.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, support, and kindness shown during this difficult time. Your compassion has brought comfort beyond words.

Though Jim may no longer walk beside us, the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will remain in our hearts forever. His legacy will live on through all who knew and loved him.
