Kathleen Jones

–

Canton, Ohio

Kathleen “Kathy” Jones, 76, of Canton, Ohio, passed away in the early morning hours of September 25, 2026.

Born April 20, 1950, in Canton to the late Joseph and Betty Beck, Kathy spent her life caring for the people around her in ways both big and small. She was quick with a laugh, never short on personality, and possessed just enough sass to make sure you always knew exactly where she stood.

For more than 30 years, Kathy worked in food service at the local Eagles, where countless people came to know her through her cooking, her personality, and the care she put into what she did. She was an exceptional cook, but those closest to her knew food was about much more than what came out of the kitchen. Cooking was one of the many ways Kathy showed love.

And nobody received more of that love than her family.

Kathy was a devoted mother whose children knew they could count on her to be there… to cook, to listen, to worry, to give advice whether they asked for it or not, and, above all else, to remind them to “do the right thing.” She catered to each of them in countless ways throughout their lives, creating the kind of everyday memories that become priceless once someone is gone.

She was funny, loving, strong willed, and unmistakably Kathy. She enjoyed a good story, a good laugh, and feeding the people she loved. Her potato salad became legendary among those fortunate enough to have a place at her table.

Kathy leaves behind a family who loved her deeply, including Scott Jones, Kathy Jones, Amy Jones, and Douglas Jones, along with the many relatives, friends, coworkers, and others whose lives were made a little fuller simply because Kathy was part of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Betty Beck.

As difficult as saying goodbye may be, Kathy’s family knows exactly what she would expect of them now… keep going, take care of one another, and do the right thing.

In their own words:

“Mom, we sure miss the countless ways you catered to each of us with your love and your constant reminder for us to do the right thing. We might be in a bad way for a little while without you, but we know we’ll see you again in Heaven. You were loved by many and will be missed by many more.

Mama tried… Mama tried.”

And Kathy certainly did.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy exactly as she deserves… with stories, laughter, memories, and a little less formality.

An Aloha Hour will be held Thursday, October 1, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home. The celebration will continue at 6:00 p.m. with Kathy’s Final Luau, a fitting farewell to a woman who brought plenty of flavor, laughter, and personality into this world.

Come comfortable. Come colorful. Come ready to tell a Kathy story.

Most importantly… come ready to celebrate a life well lived.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home, 2222 Fulton Road NW, Canton, Ohio 44709. Memories, photographs, and condolences may be shared with Kathy’s family at www.SchneebergerFuneral.com.
