With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lillian Irene McLaughlin on February 21, 2024. Born on April 21, 1935, to Charles and Agnes Ackelson in Canton, Ohio, Lillian lived a life that was as rich as it was long, defined by love, hard work, and resilience.
Lillian was a woman of great strength and determination who touched many lives with her unique charm and charismatic personality. After years of dedicated service at the Timken Bearing Plant, she retired from her role in housekeeping/janitorial. Her work ethic was unwavering, and her commitment to her job reflected her diligent character. Beyond her professional life, Lillian had a deep love for her family, who were the cornerstone of her existence.
Known for her warm heart and her ability to make anyone feel at home, Lillian’s doors were always open to friends and family. Her fierce loyalty and selfless love were the bedrock upon which her family was built. Her stories, laughter, and wisdom filled the room, making every gathering an occasion to remember. She was the glue that held everyone together, and her absence will leave an irreplaceable void.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Sheila Robbins, Cheryl Thompson, and Lorraine (Danny) Elliot; her sister-in-laws, Beverly Worshil and Donna Selogy; grandchildren, Renee Robbins, Casey, Larry, Melissa, and Sherri, Debbie Thompson, Tricia (Fred) Crenshaw, Amanda and Marc McLaughlin, Dawnyell, Terry and Danny Elliott; as well as 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur McLaughlin; her parents, Charles and Agnes Ackelson; her brother, Charles Ackelson; her sister, Louise Koffel; her sons, Arthur & Brett McLaughlin, and her daughter, Pamela Thompson.
We are comforted knowing Lillian is reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death, and we will hold onto the beautiful memories she has left behind. We invite all who knew and loved Lillian to share their memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page, as we celebrate the remarkable life she led.
