Orvill L. Burns Obituary (1927 - 2014)

Orvill Lee Burns age 87, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014. Orvill was in failing health with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Clendenin, WV Jan. 10, 1927, he is preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a daughter-in-law, JoAnne Burns. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret; brother, Bob Burns of Louisville, children, John E. Burn of Malvern, Lynn (Dr. David W.) Smith of Canton; grandchildren, Jason (Kathy) Burns East Lansing, MI, Stephen (Courtney) Burn, Canton, Jim (Kathy) Zimmer, Massillon, Michael (Jeanine Iacono) Zimmer, Massillon, Brian (Jackie) Zimmer, Canton, Jennifer Burns, Port Clinton, OH, Dyanna Smith, Portsmouth, NH, and Douglas Smith, Palm Desert, CA; great grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Matthew, Makayla Zimmer, and Bryan Burns. Memberships include Canton Baptist Temple, Wm. McKinley Lodge # 431, F. & A.M., A.A.S.R., Valley of Canton and a retiree of Union Metal. Orvill may best be remembered not only as a doting “POP”, but also as “Mr. Fix It” and always looked on the lighter side of life. Services will be Sat. Dec. 20, 2014 at Noon conducted by Pastor Mike Frazier in the funeral home where friends will be received from 10 am till Noon. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
