Russell G. Morris
Born on July 5, 1948 and passed away on September 20, 2019 after an extended illness.
After receiving a heart transplant in April 2009, Russ fought many health issues and always tried to conquer each and every one and never gave up. He passed away peacefully in the hands of God and in the arms of his loving wife.
Russ was honored to serve four years in the US Army operating tanks and large trucks. He was employed at Kempthorn Motors, and then worked for and retired after 30+ years from Republic Storage as a Supervisor. He was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed building and racing cars on local circuits. He was a former member of the Eagles and a life member of the Army and Navy #150. His greatest passion was working outdoors in his yard where he would work from morning till night.
Russ was preceded in death by his Mother Lottie Shonk, his Father and Step-Mother Charles R and Elvena Morris. He is survived by the love of his life, his Wife of 45 years Barbara Morris and his loving pet cat Lucy. Also, his cousins Diane, Andy, Mark, Clarence and Norene. His Sister-in-Law Carol (Pete) Corrin, his Brother-in-Law Bob (Marilou) Monick and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say thank you to Aultman Hospital for their care, especially Canton Davida Dialysis Unit and everyone who took such great care of him at Altercare of Louisville.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 20, 2019 at the North Canton Eagles #2223, 6979 Sunset Strip Ave. NW, North Canton, OH 44720 from 2pm to 4pm.
