Steven Monte

–

Canton, Ohio

Steven Charles Monte passed away at the age of 56 leaving behind family and loved ones who will remember him as part of their lives and a part of their family’s story.
Like many lives, Steven’s was a journey of both joyful moments and difficult chapters. Steven was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose wit, kindness, and playful spirit touched the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Those who loved Steven will cherish his bright mind, quick wit, kind heart and the warmth he brought to their lives. Steven had a way of bringing laughter and light-heartedness to the people around him. He was the type of person who never met a stranger. Beneath his wit and playful spirit was a die hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and a man who, at his best, found joy in making people smile and laugh.

The moments shared with Steven will be treasured, and the bonds he formed will live on in the hearts he touched.

Steven is survived by his wife of 28 years Melissa Monte, son Zak Monte, sisters Teri Frey and Cassandra Monte. Extended surviving family members include brothers in law Steve Glen, Jim Frey and Matt Tucker, nieces Riley Glenn, Addison Glenn, Ayssa Frey and Saylor Tucker, nephews Sean Glenn, Ethan Glenn, Zack Frey, Ethan Frey and Spencer Monte.

Steven is proceeded in death by his parents Jim and Kay Monte, sister Teresa Minturn, mother-in-law Sharon Scally and sister-in-law April Scally.

Though Steven’s life ended far too soon, the love he shared, the laughter he brought and the memories created with those closest to him will live on. Life doesn’t always unfold as we hope or imagine, but the love we share and the memories we create on life’s journey will always remain a part of us.

As his time on earth has come to an end, may he find eternal peace as he is reunited with family members who have gone before him. May the love and memories he leaves behind bring comfort to those who will forever miss him.

Rest peacefully, Steven, knowing that you are loved and will be forever missed.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”
-Mathew 11;28 (KLV)
